Sanara Ventures participates in the first Digital Health Meetup in Haifa

Public Health in a digital world

On Nov 23, 2015 Sanara Ventures participated in the first digital Health Meetup in Haifa. The Meetup launched a new venture,, a new initiative of Israel’s Innovation Institute in collaboration with the Municipality of Haifa and the Clalit Sickfund, aiming to build an innovation platform for Healthcare and Wellbeing technologies focusing on open innovation for improvement of the continuum of care.

The meetup attracted over 120 entrepreneurs, Academia, Industry, startups and multinationals, Physicians, nurses and Public Health personnel to discuss current healthcare challenges and opportunities. The dialog focused on ways to improve interrelations between healthcare stakeholders and consumers, on novel digital health solutions and on industry trends.

Among the speakers were Guido Pardo-Roques, President of Philips Israel who described Philips’ role in improving the continuum of care using cloud technologies that are based on its Health Suite Digital Platform (HSDP). Dorit Sokolov, VP Business Development of Sanara Ventures, highlighted major trends in local and global healthcare systems and the role that digital health could play in solving these challenges. Shmuel Ganz, General Manager of Haifa municipality expressed Haifa’s commitment to this project, Prof. Haim Bitterman Former Chief Medical Officer of Clalit fund talked about the major drawbacks of the Israeli healthcare system and Levi Shapiro, Chairperson of the digital Health entrepreneur community described general investment trends in digital health. The meetup also included presentation of a few digital health startup and concluded with a panel.
